I saw the following in this morning's Boston Globe tranactions column, as
well as today's Foster's Daily Democrat (Dover, NH):
UNH Assistant Hockey Coach Brian McCloskey has accepted the position of
Associate Head Coach at Dartmouth College. McCloskey is a 1977 graduate of
Dartmouth, and had been the Wildcat's assistant for five years. He was the
head recruiter for UNH, and is responsible for recruiting such talented
players as Tim Murray, Jason Krog, and Mark Mowers, among others.
My comments: This is a great loss for UNH. Brian was an excellent
recruiter and a great addition to the bench for UNH. He has an extremely
intense personality, and will surely be missed by the coaches, players and
the fans. Although I have no doubt that there will be a number of very
qualified candidates for Coach Umile, this is certainly not the news I
wanted to hear this summer!
Brian, thanks for your outstanding contribution to UNH Hockey, and all the
best to you at Dartmouth!
