Your opinion is really not the issue.  Different strokes for different folks
... No problem there ...
 
The issue is, the WCHA is still part of the NCAA, and these rules are voted
on plenty in advance.  The rulebook is clear on what procedures are supposed
to be for any kind of tournament, post-season or in-season, and it wasn't
followed. Period.  Why is this so hard to understand?
 
The conferences have autonomy on many issues, this NOT being one of them ...
at least according to the rules.  Just like there are States rights, and
other things that federal government say you can't do no matter what you
want.
 
But as an NCAA member conference, the WCHA assuredly was part of the voting
procedure on implementing these rules.  So it has a say.
