Okay, now this takes chutzpah. There's an article on E$PNet
<http://espnet.sportszone.com/nhl/index.text.html> with the headline

> CANADIAN TV PULLS A 'HEIDI' DURING SUDDEN-DEATH

describing how Canada's TSN (The Sports Network) lost the satellite
feed from the Canada-Russia World Championships game as the game was
being decided on penalty shots (after being tied 2-2; Canada won 3-2
on penalty shots to advance to the gold medal game with the Czech
Republic tomorrow). TSN cut to its studios, where the host described
the final penalty shot as it was happening. The article compares the
incident to the infamous "Heidi game", where NBC cut away from the 4th
quarter of a Jets-Raiders contest to show the movie "Heidi".
Obviously, our friends at E$PN feel TSN should have cut away to a golf
interview, then passed off tape-delayed footage ten minutes later as
though it were live. Okay, everyone, point at Bristol, CT and repeat
after me: SIEVE! SIEVE! SIEVE!

ObHockey: Just read on the World Championships page
<http://www.sportsnet.co.at/Icehockey/schedule.htm> that the US
defeated Russia 4-3 on Brian Rolston's short-handed goal 4:48 into
overtime to win the bronze. Parris Duffus (late of Cornell) was again
in net for the Americans, saving 32 of 35 shots.
