Today's Boston Herald has a short note that Blake Bellefeuille of
Framingham, MA, High School has committed to Boston College for next year
(1996-97). Bellefeuille is currently a senior at Framingham HS. His
stats from his earlier years:
    Sophomore: 36 G, 51 A, 87 pts. (?? games)
    Junior: 41 G, 51 A, 92 pts. (23 games)
(end of Herald information)

Bellefeuille is one of the top scorers in the Massachusetts public school
ranks and has helped take his team to the elite in their division. I
have seen him play several times and have been impressed with his speed,
moves, and drive. While the public school competition may not be at the
level of the Catholic or prep schools, I think Blake can hold his own in
any competitive level. I do not know if there is any guarantee that he
will follow through on this commitment or whether it is just a verbal
statement to reduce the recruiting pressure. Does anyone out there know
if this type of "commitment" carries any sort of official sanction?

I believe his older brother played in Hockey East as well; my memory says
he played at Maine. I'm sure some of the other HE regulars can verify
that??
