It has been 26 years since Cornell won its most
recent NCAA title -- 11 years before I became a
college hockey fan. But I don't believe I have
ever seen a game at Lynah during which I didn't
look at the title banners at least once.

The pride of winning the national championship
*never* dissipates -- it belongs to the program
forever. That will carry you through the lean
years. And the benchmark of having, even in
the distant past, won a title always suggests
to us incurable optimists the potential of
winning future titles.
