approximately 100 players, family, friends, and supporters attended
the Air Force Falcon Hockey banquet to bid a fond farewell to manager
Walt Gibbons; players Pat Kielb, Todd Lafortune, Steve Maturo, John
Rimstad, Justin Scott, Derek Sellnow, and Peter Sandness; and former
head coach Chuck Delich.  Delich, an academy grad and 15 year coach,
was supported by friends and colleagues from the athletic department
and the academic side.  General Reuben Cubero, former NCAA Faculty
Athletic Representative and current Dean of Faculty joined in wishing
this year's seniors and coach Delich well in the future.  Cubero also
presented seniors Steve Maturo and Justin Kieffer with certificates
for making the GTE academic all america district team.
 
Captain next year will be Junior Justin Kiefer assisted by Junior Dan
Davies and John Haberlach.
 
The Blue Line Club named Todd Lafortune as offensive player of
the year and Justin Scott as defensive player of the year.  His
teammates named sophmore Joe Kramer the most improved player.
 
Finally trainer Erik Marsh, on behalf of the College Hockey
Humanitarian Award, presented Steve Maturo with a framed picture and
congratulated him as being one of only 13 nominees for the award.
