1. As a Cornellian living in Burlington, I can confirm that the entire
state of Vermont will be in Albany on Saturday night. As the only
major sport at the only major state university in the only "real" city
in Vermont, the Cats get 100% of the local fan support (minus the 10
Cornellians I know who live up here). If the NCAA really wanted to
pump the attendance, they should have made UVM play both nights....
This brings me to my second point:

2. Vermont should not have gotten the 2E spot. Granted, they may have
the second best numbers among eligible Eastern teams, but IMHO (I've
seen them play several times this year), they are not really a great
team. Look what happened against Harvard when one player (Thomas) had
a "merely good, not great" game (to quote the Burlington Free Press).
UVM has three superstars, but blatantly struggles when Perrin and St.
Loius are not on the ice. I'm not taking anything away from the French
Connection - they are amazing! - but as a team, UVM just doesn't
measure up against the rest of the top teams in the NCAAs. I know that
I should cheer for ECAC, but if LSSU beats Cornell, please forgive me
if "O-ver Ra-ted" slips from my mouth during the UVM/LSSU game.

3. Speaking of Cornell cheers, I've spoken with many (in fact, I've
gone out of my way to talk to as many as I can) UVM fans, and they are
in awe of the Cornell fans. They can not believe how organized,
audacious, spirited, enthusiastic, creative, and, (well okay) rude our
sections were at Placid. Of course, the irony is that we're not
orgainzed at all. Let's keep up the good work in Albany!

4. Have Perrin and St. Loius ever beaten Cornell? I can't recall what
happened in Burlington their freshman year (93-94), but in the other 5
games, Cornell is 3-0-2....
