It was long overdue, but Cornell finally got a well-deserved win. The Red
controlled this game from the beginning, breaking out to an early 3-0 lead.
I was rather surpised at how flat Vermont was. Granted they did not have
Soucy in goal and they were not playing for the chance for a higher playoff
seed, but if they had put more effort into it, they could have given Cornell
a run for their money. After seeing their lackluster performance, I have to
say they will be ripe for an upset. I am assuming Christian will be back in
net and that may be enough to save them, but watch out for Princeton!

It was fantastic to see such a solid performance from Cornell. I knew
these guys could play hockey! It was nice to see the seniors end on an upbeat
note, since it is the end of Jason Vogel's and Russ Hammond's careers and maybe
Etienne Belzile's as well (although, if Alex Nikolic can find a place in the
Flames organization, Etienne should have a chance). Ryan Hughes's chances
with Quebec are questionable, but I think he has a shot at it. Vogel, having
been out much of the past two months with a shoulder injury played Saturday
night, but Hammond was not (due to some kind of injury, I don't know what).

Andy Bandurski put in a solid performance in net, which makes one question
why Skazyk has been starting so much when Andy is the better goalie. I don't
think it's entirely due to his sprained ankle, which hasn't seemed to bother him lately.
