My copy of the March 7th issue of the US College Hockey magazine showed
up in the mail yesterday, or maybe I should say part of it did as the US
Postal Service chewed it up. There is an article by Dave Hendrickson
therein where he interviews Bob Norton, formerly a voice of Hockey East
and now on the ECAC game of the week. Norton commented upon the fact that
ECAC crowds are better than Hockey East's. I can't supply any quotes since
I don't have the magazine with me. In any case, this surprised me, but I
had the same reaction that Joe did when I watched the BC-PC game -- where
is everybody? Neither school is in the roundball tournament, are they?

Several years ago, I commented on Hockey-L that certain schools seem to
dominate Hockey-L and certain schools seem to have very little presence. I
probably mentioned BC as one of the schools with little H-L presence. In
any case, I got the comment back that H-L reflects a combination of hockey
interest and computer usage, and one would expect more people from technical
schools here. That sounded OK to me, but now I am not certain, and anyway,
more and more non-technical types are getting on the internet as the years
pass.

Granted there are other things to do in Boston besides watching BC-PC, but
where were the fans? [Perhaps they gave it up for lent? :-) ]
