This is really re: skating cheerleaders.  It's a midwestern thing.  In Div I
Minnesota, Minnesota-Duluth, St. Cloud, and North Dakota all have skating
cheerleaders.  I'm certain most Div III teams in the area do, too.  Indeed,
almost all of the Minnesota high school teams have them.  To us around here
it's not a novelty at all, but to people from other parts of the country,
I gather, it's quite unusual.
