I'll defend Tom here.  I was getting ESPN when it was still a test
pattern.  In those days they did things like carry UConn field hockey.
Early on they carried the Beanpot and happened upon <g> some exciting
hockey.  I *may* be wrong, but I think that Mees is the internal advocate
at ESPN who pointed out that college hockey would/could be an audience
grabber.  For this I forgive the lack of depth of his college hockey
knowledge since clearly he has to pay more attention on a day to day
basis to more popular events.
