Sounds like the inference is that BU-Maine is an elite matchup that gets the
elite officials (an oxymoron?) while Merrimack-Lowell is a matchup of cellar
dwellars that gets the bottom-of-the-barrel refs. If so, I must point out
that at present Lowell is second in Hockey East (although admittedly with
schedule considerations Maine is highly likely to pass them). I'll leave
Mike to defend Merrimack's honor, but if you would care to substitute Lowell's
archrival UMass-Amherst ("the *real* UMass?" Hah!), a team now residing in
eighth place, that would be perfectly fine with me. :-) :-) :-)

(Sorry, Leigh.)
