The result doesn't surprise me -- Brown's been playing uner .500 overall
since the season-opening win streak... They can bounce back, but who knows?
 
What shocks me is the attendance. I moved out to Chicago this year, but as
a regular fan since 1986, I just have to shake my head. Where are the
students? Hell, we got 800 fans to the place in the dreadful 25-game losing
streak a few years back, for regular season contests! Even last year, it
seems that playoff attendance was double last night's number. With that
kind of anemic fan support (present company clearly excluded), it's no
wonder the Bears haven't shaken off their struggles this season. A good
crowd can give a tired, overachieving team the added boost they need. A
tiny crowd (and I'd have to imagine a third of those in attendance were
Princeton faithful) in your home building would almost be worse than
playing on the road. At least on the road players don't expet to have fan
support.
 
It's too bad that just as the university as a whole has its teams winning,
the students are too busy studying their weekends away. (Not that studying
isn't important... I have a masters in education which makes me say that...
but lighten up Bruno!)
