Yep, Halfnight was taken by Hartford in the 9th round of the '94 draft.
Martins was a supplemental pick by the Whalers in the same year. Hartford
seems to have forgiven the Crimson for previous contract problems with
Mark and Scott Fusco, plus the unfortunate premature retirement of
Lane MacDonald due to migraine headaches. Of course Peter Karmanos'
son, Jason, is a junior on Harvard this year, so that might be a
factor on the recent Crimson/Whalers connection. Come to think of it,
suddenly Harvard is a .500 team ...
