from ADMINISTRATIVE REVIEW PANEL
(case 718) Someone wanted the season-of-competition
rule to be waived for a player that appeared in three games
and was then cut. It was denied. (Hence, the three games
played will cost the player a full year of eligibility/competition.)

Does anyone know if this would be Kyle Ferguson of Michigan Tech who is
now sitting around waiting to be eligible to play at RPI? If three was
the number of games he played at MTU this year, then I would strongly
suspect that it is he. In any case, it was stated in The Hockey News
that Ferguson would be able to play starting next January. If he has
only one year of eligibility left, would he use it up by playing the
second half of the 95-96 season? It would seem strange that RPI would
want a player who only would play for them for about 15 games. Of
course, if he sat out all of 95-96 in addition to the remainder of this
year, he would be eligible for the entire 96-97 season.
