No game report,(Carol said she's posting one) but I'll second Shari's comment
that the PA system in the new arena is HORRIBLE. It manages to be EVEN WORSE
than in the old Mariucci Arena, and that takes some doing. (Some people who sat
near me one year compared it to the way the adults in "Peanuts" cartoons sound,
which I suppose was appropriate for the Hall of Fame game before Charles
Schulz's induction.) We could not even understand what must have been the
"flying pucks" disclaimer before the game. I think the first person hit by a
puck should sue them. There'll be 9000 people available to testify that the
announcement was inaudible. (There wasn't a written disclaimer on the ticket,
either.) Then we'll see how much they think it's worth to fix it!

Doug Woog said on his radio show tonight that the Gophers' staff has sent off
the game tape to the WCHA office to appeal Chris McAlpine's fighting suspension
from Friday's Hall of Fame game. He said he'd never heard of anybody's appeal
working, but he thought it was pretty obvious. He didn't mention anything about
taking (Tech Coach) Mancini up on his offer to help in the appeal (from
Saturday's Mpls paper - Erik's post from Saturday).

Oh, and for anyone in the area (or, for that matter, who gets KSTP in Colorado
:-) ) who's interested, Woog is on KSTP (AM 1500) with Pat Reusse and Joe
Soucheray every Monday night at 7:05 and Saturday morning at 11:05. He also
apparently (from the TV listings this week) has a half-hour show on MSC before
each game this weekend.

I called MSC to get a partial telecast schedule for Gopher hockey. I had heard
that they're televising 28 games. According to the schedule I got, they're
televising every Gopher game through December 12 except for the 2 exhibitions
(the Hall of Fame game last Friday and the Team USA game next Wednesday.) I
suspect they WON'T be sending a crew to Anchorage Dec 17-18, and probably won't
cover the Mariucci Classic Dec 31 and Jan 2. I don't know what the chances are
that other SportsChannel outlets would pick up any of these games (prob'ly on
tape delay).

Here's the Midwest Sports Channel partial schedule (all times Central):
