i was surprized to see that 3 of the 4 tournament champs (minnesota
clarkson, and maine would be fighting it out for one of the final 4
slots.  so we have

1.  there WILL BE a tournament winner at the ultimate quartet
2.  there WILL BE a western team (slot 3) at the ultimate quartet
3.  based on league finishes, the hardest to easiest slots are
