Clarkson shaf...er, low seeding, came in the 1991 NCAA Tournament. After
going 21-7-2 in the regular season (OK, so one of those was against a
Canadian team), sweeping Yale in the Quarterfinal, defeating Harvard and
SLU to win the ECAC Tournament, the Knights were seeded FOURTH in the East
behind Maine, BU and Boston College (I think). This may have been beneficial
to Clarkson in the long run, as #4E Clarkson swept #5W Wisconsin and then
knocked off #1W Lake Superior State before losing to #2E Boston Univ. in the
NCAA Semifinals, while #6W Alaska-Anchorage went to Boston and swept the #3E
BC Eagles. :^)

No one is really sure why Clarkson was seeded so low, and why St. Lawrence did
not receive the bid over Cornell.
