State of Maine college hockey is covered pretty well in Maine, but
certainly U of Maine ice hockey is covered very well. The Bangor
Daily News is published 6 times per week. On Saturday and Monday are
game reports, almost always front page of sports section and often
with a photo ... about 1/4 to 1/2 page. On Tuesday and Wednesday
are feature stories and editorials (today's BDN had a feature on Mike
Latendresse and another on Justin Tomberlin). Thursday brings a
feature on the weekend's opponent. Friday features the Maine team
and the upcoming series. Each of these are about 1/4 page.

A Sunday paper out of Portland also has pretty good coverage of U
Maine hockey. Whereas BDN maybe covers 1/2 of the State, the
Portland paper (Maine Sunday Telegram?) covers the entire state.

Coverage of HOCKEY EAST is fair, but you'll learn *much* more through
HOCKEY-L, than any local paper in Maine. Coverage of the rest of
college hockey is almost non-existent, except for an inconsistent set
   of scores.

cheers,
wayne
