The article does state:
"By declaring early, at age 18 rather than 19, he is forced to surrender
his remaining three years of college eligibility."
 
Considering the rest of the article is written with the point of view --
including quotes from DiPetro -- that his college career is done, I'd say
it definitely sounds like eligibility is done and he's off to the pros.
