        That version of the quote is at odds with what appeared on
USCHO, in a subtle way which reverses the meaning:
 
   "All three of my kids wouldn't lie to me; they'd say, `Coach, it hit
   the post,' or `It hit the pads.' I mean, it came right back out," he
   added. "They said it hit the upper left corner of the goalpost, but it
   doesn't go up and hit the post. It's unfortunate."
 
I'm still having trouble parsing that myself, but I think it's saying
the players saw it go in, and Schafer believes them.
 
        I only heard the non-goal/goal on the radio, so I can't say
what happened.  At any rate, the issue was rendered irrelevant by the
following night's result.  Any witnesses care to weigh in on whether
Kovac got a piece of the game-winner of *that* one with a high stick?
