Heading into the final week of the regular season, the final 4 play-off
spots are still up in the air. Bowling Green is in the thick of it all, with
a chance to finish anywhere from 6th to 9th.
And I think it is safe to say that Ohio State's domination of Lake Superior is
the biggest series upset in the CCHA this year.

CCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Ron White, a sophomore left wing from The Ohio State
University, has been selected CCHA Player of the Week for the week ending
March 1, 1992.
White, a 5-11, 175-pound native of Sebringville, Ontario, had nine points
(seven goals and two assists) in the Buckeyes home sweep of Lake Superior. In
Friday's 7-4 win, White scored three goals including the game-winner while
also adding an assist. In Saturday's 8-2 victory, White scored four goals and
chipped in one assist. He scored the first goal of each game and finished the
weekend with +3 and four power play goals.
White, a 22-year old free agent, is now third on OSU in scoring with 41 points
on 29 goals and 12 assists. He leads the Buckeyes with 14 power play goals.

Playoff Picture: Michigan will finish first; Michigan State and Lake Superior
will finish second and third, MSU needs four points for second; Western
Michigan will finish fourth; Miami will finish fifth; Ferris State and UIC
will each finish between sixth and eighth; Bowling Green will finish between
sixth and ninth; and Ohio State will either finish eighth or ninth. Ferris

goals.
Ferris State's Gruden putting up offensive numbers: Bulldog sophomore
defenseman John Gruden has a point in eight of the last 10 games including
five goals in the last nine games.
UIC's Zdan looking for Flame freshman goal record: UIC rookie Mark Zdan has
18 goals this season to tie the school record held by three different
individuals.
Felsner now seventh on CCHA all-time scoring chart: Michigan senior Denny
Felsner, after earlier breaking Jamie Wansbrough's CCHA goal mark (92) and
overall goal record (127), is currently seventh in all-time CCHA scoring with
198 points (103-95). Kip Miller is sixth with 192 points.
MSU's White seventh on CCHA all-time assist list: With 32 assists in CCHA
play this season, Michigan State senior Peter White has now recorded 116
assists to place him seventh. Jim Dowd is sixth with 121 assists.
Miami's House on a tear: Redskin senior Ken House has 14 points (six goals,
eight assists) in the last seven games to raise his season totals to 23 goals
and 20 assists for 43 points in 34 games. He is also a +10.
Smolinski continuing offensive production: With at least one point in 10 of
the last 12 Michigan State games, junior center Bryan Smolinski has raised his
season total to 24 goals and 29 assists for 53 points in 35 games.
Buckeyes snap losing skein vs. Lakers: Lake Superior had won 11 straight
contests vs. Ohio State, but this past weekend on home ice, the Buckeyes won
twice to pull within two points of Bowling Green for the last playoff spot.
CCHA league scoring numbers: For the 135 league games completed this year
(nine left) there have been 1078 goals scored for an average of 7.99 per game.
Ferris State records first win vs. top three: The Bulldogs victory on Friday
