The paper in Milwaukee relate the story as more of a session to release pent
up frustration. It stated that after the closed door meeting the players
returned to the ice to smash their sticks and bang on the boards for 15
minutes, then to practice without a puck for an hour(??) Although this
doesn't change the fact it was a captains practice, it does seem to imply
that they were on the ice because of a sense of disappointment in their
performance, and a desire to play up to their abilities.
