Gophers' junior defensman Brian La Fleur was named the WCHA
defensive player of the week Monday, after his strong defensive
play and surprising offensive input helped the Gophers sweep
Northern Michigan 10-0 and 7-0 over the weekend.
La Fleur scored a goal in both games, and now has six --- for
the season, for his career, and for the Gophers' 19-game
unbeaten streak. La Fleur, from Bloomington Jefferson (H.S.),
hadn't scored a collegiate goal until this season.
