I had the pleasure of spending the weekend in Boston,
recruiting at a Junior tournament at Northeasten U -
a good time in one of my favorite cities.
 
While I was there Head Coach, Ben Smith gave me a tour of
the remodeled locker rooms for both the MEN and WOMEN's
teams. Kudos to the athletic dept for upgrading both.
Thanks also to Coach Smith for taking the time to show
me around Mathews Arena. You N.U. fans have a great
coach and as those of us know a "class individual"
as your mentor.
 
I also noticed that they are expanding the ice surface
after this year to 200 X 90 - you can see the new
dimensions outlined outside the existing boards at
the rink.  What a difference that will make.
 
For the most part the D-I "boys" have started practice,
with the exception of the IVY schools. I also saw
Coach Tomassoni and Haaarrrvaaaarrrd starts Oct 15th.
 
If the NHL strike continues maybe ESPN will
put a college game on each weekend ?????
