Well, folks, the Golden Knights have indeed proven themselves to the
college hockey world (I hope) as they put their troubles from last night
aside and beat the #1 nationall ranked LSSU Lakers by a score of 4-3.
Unfortunately, I have no details (I was in a meeting and couldn't listen to
the whole game), except that LSSU went ahead 1-0, then Clarkson tied it
1-1, then LSSU went ahead 2-1, but Clarkson scored four straight, including
their fourth goal early in the third by Mark Green (whom I think had 2 goals
tonight). Oops, Clarkson scored three straight, sorry. LSSU cut the lead to
one in the third, but goaltender Chris Rogles came up strong for the Golden
Knights, making 19 saves in the third and 36 in the game.
Clarkson will now face the Terriers of Boston University in the
semifinals. The Knights defeated BU 5-0 at BU earlier this season.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm gloating, but wouldn't you be excited if your
team knocked the #1 team in the nation out of the tournament :^)...sorta like
the Richmond Spiders defeating Syracuse in that other tournament :^) :^)
