Is growth for growths sake good?
As a fan, I can think of a few direct benefits that widespread college hockey
growth would produce - better coverage on TV, in newspapers, and in water-cooler chat.
There may be more teams and players and more opportunities to see games. But also as a fan I
can foresee a few downsides to increased growth - possibly increased competition for tickets,
increased ticket prices to support the increased college hockey infrastructure. Are there any more?
As a fan I don't see many compelling reason to increase growth. However, from the viewpoint
of a player, coach, school or the NCAA I can think the positives outweigh the negatives. Any other thoughts?
