Dave Emma (Boston College / NJ Devils) is organizing a benefit exhibition
to be held on Sat. Dec. 17 at Providence College's Schneider Arena at 1pm.
Proceed will go to the Providence Journal Bulletin's Santa Fund and the
RI Sports Council. Scheduled to participate are several former collegiate
players a few of which are originally from Rhode Island. They include
(and excuse me if I get any of their former affiliations wrong - this is
all from memory) Providence's Rob Gaudreau (SJ Sharks) and Chris Terreri
(NJ Devils,) BU's Scott LaChance (NY Islanders) and Shawn McEachern
(Penguins,) as well as former Maine Black Bear Keith Carney (Blackhawks.)
Also, BC Eagles Bill Guerin (NJ Devils,) Steve Heinze and Steve Leech
and RPI's Adam Oates (all Boston Bruins.)

Also scheduled to participate are Ray Bourque, Glen Wesley and Jeremy
Roenick and possibly BC's Kevin Stevens.

The exhibition will consist of two 25 minute periods and will feature a
skill competition at halftime. Tickets are $10 (general admission) or
$25 for reserved seats. A limited number of $50 "gold circle" tickets
which includes a reception with the players after the game are also
available. Tickets can only be purchased at the Schneider Arena box
office and will go on sale this Saturday. There will also be a raffle of
the players game jerseys. Should the NHL go back to work tickets will
either be refunded or the proceeds can be donated to the Santa Fund.

Sounds like a great way to see some former stars up close. (Schneider
only holds @ 3000.)
