We've been having way too much fun with the Seawolf/Number of Teams in
Michigan, Massachusetts & Minnesota (is there something sinister in the
alliteration?)/Squirrel-like Critters threads. Now it's time for a
serious question on superstitions. So there.
1. Does anyone know the origin of the knock on wood for luck superstition?
and now the difficult part ...
2. Does it matter if the wood is alive or dead? (i.e., a board as
opposed to the actual tree) and does the size of the wood have any
bearing on the matter?
As I said, it's time for some SERIOUS discussion on this list. ;-)
