There's been a brief discussion off the list of Saturday's Michigan vs.
BGSU game (a 4-0 UM win). I thought that this piece would be relevant
to the list. Here's a listing of the penalties from that game:
1:32 BG Pronger (interference)
4:11 UM Arnold (holding)
15:01 UM Arnold (tripping)
21:22 UM Ward (tripping)
24:49 BG Lune (MAJOR,checking from behind)
31:06 UM Neaton (cross-checking)
32:43 UM Tamer (checking from behind)
34:02 UM Ouimet (high sticking)
42:36 UM Ward (elbowing)
43:32 BG Carper (cross-checking)
50:21 BG Mears (checking from behind)
55:25 UM Roberts (holding)
Notice what happens after the questionable major on Lune. Michigan
receives penalties giving BG 4:56 of continuous PP time, including
two 5-on-3s totalling 1:04. As Keith pointed out, this must be an
unwritten rule.
In total, Michigan "outminored" BG 8-3, while the Falconse received
the only major. This must be an extension of the marble theory! :-)
