Since it seems to be Minnesota Day on HOCKEY-L, I'll add to the festivities
with some news from the December 17, 1992 issue of Let's Play Hockey,
"America's No. 1 Hockey Weekly."
"There has still been no progress made in Mankato State University's
attempt to compete at the Division One level in hockey. The city
still plans to build the new hockey rink, but it may not have as many
amenities as originally planned. Also, coach Don Brose has been unable
to recruit for next season and quite a few of next year's Division One
scheduled opponents have cancelled their commitments because of the
uncertainty regarding Mankato's status. The most likely scenario is
Mankato playing at the Division II level for the 1993-94 season, while
continuing attempts to have their program moved to the Division One
level."
Elsewhere in the issue is a list of the 189 Minnesotans currently playing
Divsion I hockey -- too long to include here.
Happy Holidays to the whole HOCKEY-L community!
