At UNH, the students pay a student activity fee with their tuition that's somewhere in the range of 700-900 dollars, can't remember off hand, so they don't have to 'pay' to get into the sporting events. Everything else rather than men's hockey, students need just show their ID at the door. For hockey, the 2000 student tickets reserved for each game are available to students the Monday of the week of the games... whatever is not claimed by students (most games, except BU, Maine, BC) become available to the public Thursday morning for $11 (GA seats, end zone)...

Here is the reason UND students get free hockey
tickets. Back in the early 70's (I think) UND student
body voted to implement an activity fee. This fee
would build the then new Englestad Arena. Part of the
deal was that all stdudents who payed the activity fee
received free tickets. Also, part of the deal was the
number of seats the students have. If you have been
to a gave it is like 1/3 of the building, about 2500
seats.
Now, of course students are not /paying a single cent
for the new rink, and may have to pay for tickets. OH
NO!
