I thought there was an NC$$ rule stating that you could have a red-shirt year if
you played in less than X% of your team's games in a season, where X was
something like 20. Or maybe this only covers medical red-shirts (losing a large
amount of playing time due to injury) and not "OK, son, you sit out this year
and grow a little..."
