I'll cast my vote for re-combining INFO-HOCKEY and HOCKEY-L, here's why
1. Many (most?) of us subscribe to both lists, so there would be no change in
incoming traffic.
2. Avoid confusion about where to post, and make it easier to post a
hockey-l reply to what is now info-hockey content.
3. Less burden on list administrators.
4. Why was info-hockey created in the first place? My understanding was
that some folks wanted to just get score type data without cluttering
up their incoming e-box with all the discussion. Given the current
situation
(a) The traffic on hockey-l has been reduced a bit.
(b) There are other convenient sources for almost all of what
currently comes across info-hockey.
Do we really still need info-hockey as a separate entity?
So, as far as I can tell, the worst thing that would happen by recombining
the lists is that a few folks who
... Don't want to receive hockey-l content, and
... Do want just what's on info-hockey, and
... Don't have web access
would be forced to either sign-off completely or put up with all of hockey-l.
How many such people are out there?
Thus, I propose that we eliminate info-hockey with the clear understanding
such information should routinely be posted to hockey-l.
