No sense in trying to stop the wind. The nickname will change.
However, I have one request, addressed to the hockey-lers from
UMass-Lowell. How does one deal, emotionally, with the change in
your school's nickname?

I guess you just deal with it. The reason that are nickname was changed
was for "PC-ness", so I guess that makes it a little more bearable. I'd
have a real difficult time if the nickname/logo was changed just to
improve marketability - that's sort of like selling out, isn't it? I
personally am just starting to get used to "RiverHawks" but I'm still not
sure I like it. It's a bit silly sounding to me. The hardest part for me
though, also a traditionalist, and the thing that still makes my blood
boil was the changing of the school's name from University of Lowell to
the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. Now THAT's hard to deal with.
