Former RPI coach Mike Addesa now lives in Andover, MA, and his three
sons are serious college prospects who have played for local prep/
private schools.  You will see Matt, Brian and Chris in college soon,
I am certain.
 
In addition to doing some scouting for the Red Wings (he can be seen
at many games at Merrimack, Lowell, etc.), I believe he is coaching
some local youth or HS-age teams.
 
As for "what really caused his departure", that is something that is
probably best left up to anyone who wishes to speculate for him/herself.
