An earlier poster was commenting on crowds and arenas, and stated that
Lawson arena (evidently, from what I quote below, at Western Michigan)
has a PA announcer whose work "earns" the entire league a round of
reminders of the guidelines for PA folks each year. Given what's quoted
below, there's obviously a difference of opinion about the gentleman.
What does he do, exactly?
>WMU-If Western is having a good season or if its a big game the crowds are
>large and nosiy. However if the the game isn't that important or Western
>is having a bad season, Lawson is a big barn. T.R. Reid is the best P.A.
>announcer in hockey and once had the Lake St. coach complain to the
>Detroit News about him. Any notice that T.R. does his pre-game
>introduction in both French and English.
Also, just what ARE the guidelines for PA announcers which were cited
earlier? Just curious.
