Just to clarify some comments about the service of ale at The Joe:
Phil Ritzenthaler comments:
>At the CCHA play-off's at the Joe (Joe Louis), they serve beer all the time.
>I can't imagine that the NC$$ could stop that at the bigger pro arena's when
>a college team plays there?
As far as I understand them, and yes, I know this has already been pretty well
covered, but...
For any event _directly_ sponsered by the NC$$ -- i.e. the Phinal Phour and
Regionals -- the officials at the Joe must halt the consumption of alcohol and
also must cover all advertising on the boards. (funny, if the NC$$ is all about
money, why don't they make the advertisers pay a small fee to leave their ads
displayed???)
If the event is not sponsered by the NC$$, the SPONSERING body controls what
happens. In other words, for the GLI and the Michigan/Michigan State game, they
can do whatever they want. The CCHA playoffs are sponsered by the CCHA, not the
NC$$, and because the CCHA allows the selling of alcohol, those of us who want
to
pay the $4 or $5 for 16 oz. of beer can do so.
