Game summary-
UMass-Boston scored with one second left in the third period to tie
Union College on December 15. UMB Goalie Vin Delvecchio left for the bench with
:42 left, and Jim Abban was in the right place at the right time, as he blasted
a shot from right in front of Union goalie Jim Helkie was the buzzer sounded.
The goal was allowed, and the teams skated through a scoreless overtime period.
Union's record stands at 6-2-1 heading into the Christmas break. UMB is
now 6-3-1.
Notes-
- UMB is the first team this season to hold the Dutchmen under 5 goals.
- Union senior defenseman Brian Lucey scored the first goal of his career in
the third period. This is Lucey's fourth year as a starter for Union.
The Dutchmen return to action Friday, December 28 when they face off
against RPI in the first round of the RPI Invitational.
