The banquet was held at the Antlers Hotel in down town Colorado
Springs and attend by about 300 players, family friends, college
officials and media.
The M. B. Hopper Award for the top scorer went to Brian Swanson
The Paul Markovitch award to the top student athlete in honor of
former defenseman and Rhodes Scholar Paul Markovitch went to Judd
Lambert and Chad Hartnell.
The Bob Johnson award to the freshman of the year was presented by
Mrs. Bob Johnson to Toby Peterson
The Steve Ebert award to the player who best exemplifies dedication,
desire, ability, and sportsmanship, the characteristics of Steve
Ebert, '66 was presented to Chad Hartnell.
The Rodman Award for the highest degree of sportsmanship went to Bobby
Needham. If interested, the award is named after a CC faculty member,
not a chicago bulls player.
The Thayer Tutt award for the Most Valuable Player went to Sophmore
Brian Swanson.
This year's senior class sets the standard with 111 career wins.
Next year's captain will be Calvin Elfring.
Earning WCHA all academic honors were Travis Cheyne, Chad Hartnell,
Judd Lambert, Bobby Needham, T.J. Tanberg, Paul Johnson, and Scott
Swanson. Todd Gustin and Jeff Herzog met the academic requirements
(but not the playing time requirements) for this honor.
