Providence forward David Ruhly broke a 3-3 tie at the 10:49 mark of the
third period and Brian Ridolfi added a an empty-netter to hand UNH a 5-3
loss. Friar Chad Quenneville had two goals for the Friars.
UNH is now 16-8-1 overall, and tied for fourth place in Hockey East with
Maine with 15 points. UNH is nine points behind front-runner Boston
University. Providence is 11-13-1, 6-9 for sixth place in the league.
Interestingly, the loss marked the third in a row for New
Hampshire in the friendly confines of Snively Arena. Rob Donovan, who
scored four goals in UNH's 8-3 thrashing of the Friars on Friday, was
held scoreless.
