The College Hockey Discussion List Poll for November 3, 1993:
Teams were given 15 points for a first-place vote, 14 for a second-place
vote, and so on down to 1 point for a fifteenth-place vote. Total first-
place votes are in parentheses.
Well, quite a jump in the number of responses this week -- many thanks to
our former Ogre for cracking the whip a bit :-)
Lake Superior remains the near-unanimous choice for top team this week, but
a couple other teams made some big moves as the order was shuffled a bit.
The largest jump by far was turned in by Colorado College, as the surging
Tigers moved from 15th to 8th courtesy of their weekend sweep of Alaska-
Anchorage. In the other direction, RPI's season-opening loss to Merrimack
not only earned the Engineers some caustic remarks from the Capital District
media, it also dropped them six spots in the HOCKEY-L poll.

The East-West split is relatively close this week, although the responses
were heavily Eastern. I'll mention here that I do this split based pri-
marily on the Email addresses of the voters, unless I have any other info --
so if you consider yourself a Western fan and are voting from an Eastern or
neutral location, please send along a note. (Ditto if you are an Easterner
mailing from a location in the West) And if you're a Western fan who is
considering voting in the HOCKEY-L poll, I'd encourage you to do so, 'cause
it looks like your buddies are getting a little overwhelmed here :-)

This week's media composite includes polls from WMEB in the East and WMPL in
the West (thanks, Wayne and Bob!), which offer us a bit of controversy.
Check out Harvard and Bowling Green, for example.
