Subject: West Regional at Munn
Regarding the possibility of Michigan remaining in the West and play in East
Lansing, Michigan, only 1 hour from their own campus because the committee
would like to make sure attendance is high..........
.........would it really make any difference? If the host team stays home
(Mich. State), wouldn't that effectively make the event a lock for a sell-out?
Munn sells out completely to season-ticket holders, and even if all of them
don't buy tickets (which they probably will, aside from a few student tickets)
there is enough pent-up demand in the local area to more than gobble up the
few seats passed over.
I agree that on the surface, if Michigan, Western, or Lake Superior win the
CCHA playoff, they might be "rewarded" by staying in the West regional, which
looks a little more formidable than going to Albany (no offense East/ECAC).
