Since it is now Wednesday afternoon, I will probably accept no more entries
into the contest. We now have 56 people entered, a little down from the
Regular Season Contest (whose results I hope to have out later today, along
with the media results and the Hockey-L consensus results) but not too bad on
such short notice. I'm expecting the numbers to go up for the NC$$ tournament
(they'd better, or you'll know what's good fer ya!).
Anyway, the results from last night's games and the "odds," according to the
56 entrants, on Thursday's game between Providence and New Hampshire:
Hockey East- Tuesday- UMass Amherst 5, Boston College 4
No. entrants % of total
UMa 4 7.14%
BC 52 92.86%
Thursday- Providence vs. New Hampshire (at BC)
No. entrants % of total
PC 4 7.14%
UNH 52 92.86%
ECAC- Tuesday- Princeton 5, Union 2
No. entrants % of total
Union 10 17.86%
Princeton 46 82.14%
Cornell 6, St. Lawrence 2
No. entrants % of total
Cornell 32 57.14%
SLU 24 42.86%
CCHA- Tuesday- Ohio State 7, Alaska-Fairbanks 2
No. entrants % of total
UAF 41 73.21%
OSU 15 26.79%
BTW, no one picked all four of Tuesday's games correctly. There were a number
who got three of the four right. So, the maximum that anyone can get nationallywill be 158 points.
I should have time by tomorrow to have tabulated the odds for the other three
quarterfinal matchups in HE as well as the quarterfinal series in the ECAC and
the first round match-ups in the CCHA and the WCHA.
