Well,
The Bruins looked a little disorganised. The UNB skaters seemed to be
moer fundamentally sound, as well as being stronger skaters - they held
their heads up, made tape to tape passes, and knew where their teammates
were. The Bruins couldn't connect on a pass unless they were totally
unmolested, and they weren't able to muster very many QUALITY scoring
chances. The UNB goalie was very good - stand up, and stand your ground;
whereas the Bruins - they used both Geoff Finch and Brian Parsons, sometimes
had trouble remembering where the post was. (They also made some dangerous
passes while out of the net - cross ice in front of the open goal.)
Needless to say, I was not impressed. Coach Gaudette did play LOTS
of freshmen though. If they play like this against Harvard next weekend,
the Crimson should have no problems.
