Gophers goalie Erik Day suffered a knee injury in a freak accident while
walking and will need surgery that might keep him out of the start of
training. Fortunately, the Gophers have an outstanding freshman goalie
in Adam Hauser of Greenway of Coleraine.
 
The Gophers will finish just one point behind Michigan, which had
national champions in football and hockey, in the men's Big Ten
Conference all-sports standings this year, and as high as eighth among
about 300 schools nationally.
