The following is exccerpted from the LSSU Sports Information Dept.
Mike Fornes has been named the `Voice of the Lakers' according to Lake
Superior State University officials and Radio WSUE today.
Fornes is a 15 year veteran of NHL play-by-play, having worked as for the
Hartford Whalers, Washington Capitals and most recently the Dallas Stars.
His work with the Caps won two Emmys. He replaces long-time Laker PBP
legend, Bill Crawford, who is the new athletic director at the University.
Fornes played collegiate hockey at Kent State ('71-74). He & his wife,
Karen, reside in Mackinaw City, Michigan.
