What you probably witnessed was "intentional offsides" which results
in a faceoff in the offending team's zone.
> OFFSIDES- faceoff occurs towards the side of the neutral zone nearer
> the OFFENDING team's zone rather than the OPPOSING team's zone!

If a player receives a pass offsides, the faceoff takes place where
the pass originated which could even be in the offending team's zone.
