A few notes:
The Black Bears have a well balanced team with 9 representitives
from both the Senior and Junior classes, and 11 Freshmen (6 Sophomores)
And,according to Head Coach Shawn Walsh,"This year's Freshmen are
more prepared to play immediately at the Division I level than any
other first-year class I have had"[quoted in The friends of Maine Hockey
Newsletter] This promises to be another exciting season at Alfond
Arena, especially with the quality teams coming in this year (Clarkson
for 2,Lake Superior for the Dexter Classic and tradtional league foes,
Providence,BU and BC) Speaking of Alfond Arena, the seats on the West
side *should* be done in time for the Blue-White Game next Friday night
at 7pm. The East side will be completed before the Opener vs. Providence
on October 23.
Thats all the news thats fit to print up here in Black Bear
Country for now. As the season draws near, let me be one of the first
to wish everyone a good season, and a safe one. And I hope to see you
in Madison in April :-)
