Freshman greg dumont put the falcons up on a solo rush about 12
minutes in, and the tally held up through the period.
in the second, rocky northon opened the gap to two, but yale pulled
back to within one a few minutes later. Joe javorsky got the third
goal, but yale closed it to 3-2 to end the period.
In the third, yale got the equalizer 14 seconds in. The falcons tured
up the pressure, and finally dan mcalister got the eventual winner
with about 40 seconds left.
The falcons outshot the bulldogs 30 to 20, and seemed to have the
better of the play, as most of it was inthe yale end. yale couldn't
cope well with the two deep, forechecking and had trouble clearing the
zone. their goalie came up with several big saves, and cant be
faulted on the final goal as he was scored on without his stick from
point blank range. he got most of it, but not quite enough.
This is the first sweep of a division 1 foe since army came here and
lost a pair last season. However, the falcon faithful could not recall
the last time a falcon team swept a division 1 conference member
opponent. I'm certain somebody will supply that trivia answer
